Well ladies, thanks for being patient with me this week! Tyler is on the mend and life is starting to return to normal at our house. I am sorry that I had to postpone book club this week, it was just one too many things to juggle with everything else that's been going on!
I want to reschedule book club for The Killer Angels. I talked to Becky, who has the April book, and she has very graciously agreed to let me infringe on her month and reschedule for the first full week of April. It seemed like next week was bad for several people because of spring break, so with Becky's permission, I am going to reschedule for Wednesday April 6th at my house. (Thanks Becky!!) I hope you'll all be able to come!
Becky has April book club tentatively scheduled for April 21st, so don't delay in getting the book and getting it started! You'll only have a couple weeks in between to get the book read. The book is called Prayers For Sale, by Sandra Dallas. I have actually heard great reviews about this book from one of my sisters in another book club, so I for one can't wait to read it.
Thanks again to all for being flexible this week. I hope to see you on April 6!!
Angie
if anyone still needs The Killer Angels, I have a copy you can borrow.
ReplyDeleteSorry to throw another wrench in things, but there is a R.S. activity that night!

Darn it!! Well...I'm not sure what to do. I know next week is bad because of spring break. I don't want to push it later into April than the week of the 6th because it will infringe on Becky's month. I can't do it on Thursday the 7th because there is a parent meeting at the middle school that night for incoming 6th graders that I need to be at, and obviously Tuesdays don't work because of activities. I hate to say it, but I am afraid some of you might have read the book for nothing. I feel really bad about it but I don't know what else to do. I guess we'll just have to skip it for March and try again another time. I am SO SORRY to all of you who went to the effort to obtain and read the book for nothing. At least there is a good read to look forward to in April!

Well, I am definitely glad I read the book, Angie. I loved it! It would be really cool if we could discuss it sometime, but if it doesn't work out, I'm still glad I read it. Thanks for choosing it!
ReplyDeleteI think you could still do it during spring break if you want, for whoever is available. Or we can discuss it at my house in April, along with Prayers for Sale! Or both, if you do it next week and there are people who can't make it. There actually is a small part of Prayers for Sale that flashes back to the Civil War!
ReplyDeleteBy the way, this post didn't come up on my Reader for some reason. Did that happen to anyone else?
ReplyDeleteOh, it finally came up on Reader at 7:30 pm.
