Hey ladies! I finally picked a book for book club this month, and I have a book club kit requested. Hopefully I should have ten books in the next few days, so come by and grab one! We are going to be reading the book Devil in the White City by Erik Larson. I must admit that this is a book that I have not actually read, but have had recommended to me several times, so I am hopeful. It is a non-fiction book and I know it starts off a little slow, so be prepared for that. Are there any conflicts on Thursday, September 27? If there are no conflicts, that would be my first choice. If that night doesn't work then we will do Tuesday September 25. Leave me a comment or email me to let me know.

Actually, the 25th is better for me because Jeromy will be out of town on the 27th. But that's okay. We can't all make it to every book club.
ReplyDeleteApparently the long weekend really slowed things down for the library...I still haven't heard from them. I checked the status of the request, and it says "In Transit." Hopefully that means it should be here soon! I will post as soon as I hear anything. Has anybody else read this book? Anybody interested in it? After I talked to my husband a little more about it I got a little nervous. I think this could really stretch our groups reading boundaries a little bit... I guess that's what book clubs are all about?

ReplyDeleteI have read this book. It's certainly very different from anything I think we've read before, but it's still an interesting book. A little disturbing at times, especially considering it is a true story, but I think it should be okay. It took me awhile to get into it when I read it, but I ended up liking it..
also, either of those days would work for me. :)
