new polls, emails, following, and permissions...

Hey gals!

There are some new polls for you to vote on our most recent books, so make sure you do that by the 12th of March.

I have set it up so that some more of you will get notices in your email when someone comments on a blog post. Unfortunately, blogger only allows ten email addresses to be set up for these notifications.  Although it shifts from month to month depending on schedules, we now have upwards of fifteen or so ladies that frequent our humble little book club (Squeeee! LOVE THAT!!!) Soooo...if you really don't care to get these emails telling you there is a new comment on a blog post, let me know so I can add others to that list.  Which brings me to my next topic:

Following!  If you are not following this blog through blogger, your google account, or your yahoo or hotmail accounts, you should start!  There is a section on this blog to the right ---------> and down the page a little bit that has lots of little pictures of people where you can click on "FOLLOW" and sign up to receive notifications through blogger or google reader (and probably other accounts as well) that will tell you via email or your google homepage when a new blog post has been published.  This makes it much easier than checking EVERY DAY,  (Because I know you just can't WAIT to see what we've posted on here!) so go ahead and follow this blog if you haven't already.

Finally, I have emailed (hopefully) all of you who have come to book club at least once in the past year or so, permission to contribute to this blog.  That means that when it's your month to host and pick the book, you can come on blogger.com and type up your little schpiel about your book, who has copies of it and how many, when book club will be and where, maybe post a recipe that everyone was raving about from the last meeting, and anything else you might want to notify people of (such as if you'd like the food brought to go with a culture or theme from the book, or if you want us to dress up as characters from the book... bring extra Cadbury Mini Eggs....Whatever you think!  It's also helpful to post a little reminder a-week-or-so before book club for those of us (me) who suffer from mom-brain and can't remember anything.

Now, the catch is that some of you may not read this post because you're not following the blog, or are seriously busy moms/wives/chauffeurs who barely have time to shower...sit down to eat a balanced meal...fold sixteen mountains of laundry...read the actual book club novel, let alone read a silly blog.  If you who ARE reading this know about any of those people, it's your job to tell them about the blog, coerce them into reading it, rate books via the polls, follow the blog, and love it forevermore, amen.
